Ingredients for Jerk Steak and Shrimp with yellow rice recipe:

  1. Angus Steak (1 pound (0.45 kg)) or Boneless Beef Tri-Tip (cut into cubes)
  2. 1 pound (0.45 kg) of large shrimp (Peeled & deveined)
  3. 1 cup bell peppers (red and green)
  4.  Water or chicken broth 1 cup
  5.  Jerk seasoning 2 teaspoons
  6.  Creole seasoning 1 teaspoon
  7.  Salt 1 teaspoon and freshly cracked black pepper
  8.  Honey 1/8 teaspoon
  9.  Butter 1 tablespoon
  10.  Oil 1 tablespoon

Directions for Cooking Jerk Steak:

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Toss in the steak. Cook for 3 minutes, undisturbed. Gently rotate in the pan until all sides are browned, about 7-8 minutes. Remove the item and place it away.

Jerk and Creole Seasonings are used to spice the shrimp. Blend thoroughly. The colour should start to change to red. Toss the shrimp after adding butter to the pan. Cook each side for 1 minute and add honey at this point. Cook for 1 minute more. Remove. The shrimp will finish cooking in the final stage.

Add bell peppers to the same pan. Cook for 3 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened. To avoid scorching, stir often. Return the steak and shrimp to the pan. Toss to combine.

Now add the broth/water and the rest of the ingredients. Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow to simmer to bring out the flavours. Serve with rice, either white or yellow. Add Green onions, black pepper, and/or cilantro. Now Jerk Steak and Shrimp with Yellow Rice is ready to eat.
